Intratec device boxes, also called installation boxes in Germany according to the DIN-49073 standard, are used for electrical installations. They are used for recessed installation of devices such as switches, sockets, etc. in the wall / under plaster or in lightweight walls, e.g. plasterboard.
Furthermore, they can also be used as junction boxes to enable different electrical cables to be brought together. The variant of the recessed switch box is excellently suited for making additional wiring connections behind the equipment. In this way, additional junction boxes can even be dispensed with in some cases.
Our device boxes are made of PP (polypropylene). They have a high rigidity, which facilitates assembly. The material makes them resistant to oil and grease and the boxes have a very low permeability to water and oxygen. The different versions have a flammability between 650°C and 850°C and some are halogen-free. In this case, the cans are absolutely free of harmful substances such as chlorine.
Our installation boxes are provided with knock-out openings and easy-to-cut passages that allow uncomplicated cabling. Markings for central drill holes are also provided. The device boxes are equipped with special plastic screws. Depending on the version, it is possible to connect several boxes in a row (with chimneys). They are compatible with lids that are fastened with so-called "paws" (screws).
