The 25A single-pole fuse with tripping characteristic B is one of the typical fuses in private households and trips from 5 times its rated current of 25 amps. Fast-acting B25 fuses are therefore ideal for lighting circuits and sockets that supply typical household loads. For example, household appliances such as refrigerators, televisions, washing machines and more. As a 25 ampere fuse, this circuit breaker is also suitable for consumers with a slightly higher load, e.g. for a cooker or for the pre-metering fuse.

B circuit breakers protect cables, appliances and people from damage. This circuit breaker is designed for applications up to 6kA and offers effective personal and system protection through safe disconnection in the event of an overload or short circuit.

A bimetallic thermal release trips in the event of an overload (overcurrent), as it bends due to the heat generated when the current is too high. After cooling down, it returns to its original position. This is a major advantage over conventional fuses, which had to be replaced after melting once. The fuse was then literally blown. After tripping, this circuit-breaker can simply be switched on again using the switch lever.

A coil serves as an electromagnetic trigger and trips in the event of a short circuit. The resulting arc is channelled into the extinguishing chamber. The free release ensures that the circuit breaker trips even if the lever is blocked or held up. After tripping, this type B circuit-breaker can be switched on again immediately. If this happens before the fault in the circuit has been rectified, the trip unit will trip again without any danger to persons.

Tripping functions of the B25 automatic circuit breaker:

Overload tripping: this function trips the fuse if the rated current is greatly exceeded over a long period of time. This happens when a bimetallic switch inside trips and switches off the circuit breaker. When the switch trips depends on the level of the overcurrent.
