Intratec's thin-walled and flexible shrink tubing is suitable for a wide range of applications. The heat shrink tubes are supplied in a practical dispenser box. Many different sizes and colours are available.
Materials for heat shrink tubing for low voltage applications:
A wide range of requirements are placed on a material suitable for the manufacture of heat shrink products. The type of base material is determined by the required range of properties of the end product. This usually leads to the choice of a polyolefinic material for low-voltage applications, but may also require the use of PVC, Teflon®, Kynar®, Viton® or various elastomers in special cases. The mechanical properties are additionally influenced by the addition of fillers such as carbon black, kaolin, chalk, etc. The mechanical properties are also influenced by the addition of fillers such as carbon black, kaolin, chalk, etc. The mechanical properties are also influenced by the addition of fillers such as carbon black, kaolin, chalk, etc. Polyolefins are used in the HQ 2:1 Intratec shrink tubing.
Method of processing for shrink tubing:
When selecting the tube size, it is important to select the tube in such a way that a minimum shrinkage of 20% and a maximum shrinkage of 80% are possible. This will allow the hose to fit cleanly.
When cutting the hose into hose sections, make sure that the cut is clean and straight. Corners or edges can cause the hose to tear during the shrinking process.
Since all shrink tubing shrinks both lengthwise and crosswise, the tubing should be cut slightly longer than the piece to be insulated.
Shrinking should start in the middle of the tube and continue at both ends. This will prevent air from collecting under the tube. This procedure is particularly recommended for long tubing lengths or adhesive-coated tubing.
When shrinking onto metal or other thermally conductive material, the temperature of the material at shrinkage must be above the shrink temperature to ensure that the hose is firmly seated.
